I lived in Hawaii from 1978 to 2007 and have caught many good, no make that many great waves here. I've surfed Sunset, Laniakea, Log Cabins, Haleiwa and even Waimea Bay. The biggest surfing thrill for me has always been getting tubed. That's when you get so deep in the pocket of a wave that it breaks over your head and you are covered by the wave. It doesn't matter to me whether its small or big - when I get tubed I'm stoked. Now you're probably thinking that my first tube ride was in Hawaii. Well, if you're thinking that you're wrong.
Our core values:
Unconditional Love—God loves each of one of us unconditionally and that is how we are to love each other. (Mark 1:40-45)
Contemporary Worship—The most important thing in worship, is to worship God from our innermost being (spirit). We use songs and instruments we can relate to. (John 4:23)
Practical and simple Bible teaching—The Bible is taught in ways we can understand and apply to our lives. (II Timothy 3:16)
Informal setting—T-shirts, shorts and slippers are OK. God looks on our hearts not our clothes. (I Samuel 16:7)
Small Group discipleship—We encourage everyone to meet in a small group to develop honest accountability and exercise their spiritual gifts to help others. (Mark 3:14 & I Corinthians 12-14)
Godly families—We build Godly families; both traditional and adopted. (Psalm 68:6)
South Shore Fellowship exists to help people fulfill the great commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) through worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism.
Evangelism—God made us each for a mission. That mission is to share His love with as many people as we can. Each one of us has a unique mission field where we are to shine His light. We are being sent forth as witnesses of His love to the world. (Acts 1:8 Mark 16:15 & Matthew 5:13-14)
Contemporary Worship—God created us to be in relationship with Him. Worship is living in relationship to God. We express our praise and thanks to God not only through contemporary music but by the way we live. Worship is a 24/7 lifestyle. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as not only Lord of the universe, but also as Lord of our lives. (John 15:15, 17:3 & Col 3:17,23)
